iPod Classic

With a newly designed Full Metal Body similar to the new iPod Nano, the iPod Classic has an increased capacity of 80GB and 160GB. The 80GB Model costs $249 and the 160GB model costs $349. Both have an amazing battery life with up to 40 hrs of music playback and 7 hrs video playback.

After the years of anticipation, Apple have finally added video to the UK iTunes Store. The news comes just a week before their event scheduled for September 5th. No doubt this happy little addition to the store will compliment what ever new product(s) they have lined for release at the event.

With each show costing £1.89 and a variety of channels such as ABC, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, MTV, Paramount Comedy and even Playhouse Disney, our next-gen iPods will be packed to the brim with new content. Roll on September 5th.

Well, there we have it. The rumors have been confirmed and it seems Apple are going ahead with their event on September 5th. From the invite shown over at Engadget I reckon we’ll be seeing the introduction of that next-gen iPod I mentioned back in July. We’ll follow up on the event in September.

According to DigiTimes, a tech news site based in Taiwan, Wintek has the orders for the touch-screen panels to be used on the next generation iPod. The site claims that the testing stage of the product has already begun and could be shipped as early as August.

So what can we expect from the new iPod? It’s likely that this version could feature that long awaited wide screen that’s been so highly anticipated for the the longest while now, possibly meaning a wider emphasis on video. We’re also hoping that the new model will have its own version of OSX, much like the iPhone.

Of course, much of this is still speculation at this stage but we’ll keep an eye out for any developments.
